ACC VANCOUVER NEW WEBSITE LAUNCHED!
The Vancouver Section executive has been working on a new website design for about three years, and it’s now live!
Special thanks to Florian Geier, Raz Peel, Martin Siegert, Jay MacArthur, Rob Janousek, Anna Milino, Claude Vessaz, Mitch Lenton, and others who have contributed with with ideas.
The main change is the addition of a modern trip planner to replace the old iCal system and integrating the trip schedule and event planner into WordPress. Please review the new trip schedule under the Trips/Events tab.
To sign up for a trip/event, you will have to set your ID on the new website. To do that:
  1. Click on the Login button on the top right side of the page.
  2. Attempt to login, and say, I forgot my password. The new system uses your email as your login.
  3. WordPress will send you an email to re-set your password. Check the email and follow the instructions on the link. You might have to check your junk email folder.
  4. Login with the password you just created/saved.
Learn how to create a trip on the calendar and become a trip coordinator! We will be having a seminar to get you started soon.
Take a few moments to check it out!
ROCK COURSES & SKILLS
Due to some limitations with regards to COVID, BlackSheep Adventure Sports and the Vancouver Section of the Alpine Club of Canada have teamed up to offer a series of courses and clinics designed to get members ready to participate on club trips and allow people to get out and enjoy the rock this summer. We can’t let COVID ruin another climbing season and want to make sure that you all can sign- up for trips once they are offered again!
So, with that in mind these heavily discounted courses are available to members only and in limited numbers.
While there are covid travel restrictions we will still be offering the courses to anyone within the Fraser or Coastal Health regions.

Spearhead Huts Society Announcement
The ACC Vancouver is sending out a huge thank you to Liz Scremin who has stepped down after 12 years of dedication to the Spearhead Huts project representing the ACCV in one of our two SHS director positions.
The ACCV was requested by the SHS to fill the empty spot as soon as possible to facilitate SHS business which the ACCV was able to do through our Bylaws procedures. We were able to appoint another member into the position. Liz, along with Michael Kennedy (SHS ACCV director) brought forward names to fill the needs of the vacant position. Our new representative is member Paul McBride.
Paul brings with him a background in architecture filling the needed skills on the design and construction committee which Liz has vacated. The ACCV wishes to thank Paul for stepping into this position

Anyone who is interested in helping our SAR team after the COVID travel band has been lifted, please message Josie Naterer via this link.
