Description
From beta from last week, sounds like this hike/scramble is almost completely snow free, with great views a lot of the way up of Baker, Border Peaks, Cheam, Slesse etc, 360 views at the top. It is reportedly not too technical but has a Class 2-3 scramble component at the end. We are interested in expanding our group to go up this area!

This doesn’t show the full distance, as based on recent reports, the most we will be able to drive is to a collapsed bridge at 930 m elevation.
Elevation gain: 1100 m or more, Distance: 16 km or more, depending on how far up the access road we can drive, Estimated hiking time: 5-7 h. Moderate pace- not too fast or slow. Be prepared to hike extra distance/elevation if we have to park further down.
Required Equipment: 10 essentials, layers in case of an overnight emergency
Recommended Equipment:
- Poles
- Microspikes, but likely not needed
- Helmet for light scrambling
- We will have an InReach and bear spray
Driving/Access: I believe the most promising access is via the New Borden FSR (turnoff 49.0760152, -121.7219871), but will check. I will see how far up the road I can get in my Subaru Crosstrek, but if we get more than 5 people we will need an additional 4X4 or high clearance AWD with a confident FSR driver. Road is reported as narrow with brush/pinstriping likely, and a few washouts.
Required experience: You should have the required fitness to do >1100 m elevation gain and loss in the estimated time.
You should have experience/comfort with Class 3 scrambling.
