Let’s kick off the trail maintenance season with a classic hike to Elfin Lakes!

Elfin Lakes Trail maintenance
Join the Friends of Garibaldi Park Society on their first trail work party of the season, this year on the trail to Elfin Lakes from the start of the trail to the Red Heather Hut. We’ll be cleaning up trash, trimming branches, moving smaller logs and recording any major damage for our friendly BO Parks rangers. We’ll stop for lunch at the Red Heather Hut before hiking out. There may be the option for some fast hikers to do the full trail to the Lakes.

Please join us afterwards for a BBQ social nearby in Squamish!

ELEVATION GAIN: 400m
TIME NEEDED: 5-6 hours

MEETING TIME AND LOCATION: 9.00 am at the Diamond Head/Elfin Lakes trailhead parking lot, by the info sign.

LATEST RETURN TIME: 3pm back at the cars. For safety reasons BC Parks require trail watch volunteers to hike out together.

This activity is not a guided trip. While the aim is for volunteers to enjoy themselves, due to work required or time constraints the group may not achieve the final destination. Be prepared to travel as a group – this means departing and returning to the trailhead together.  Additionally, prepare yourself as you would for any hike that you undertake on your own. Bring the 10 essentials, layers, food, water, warm clothes. Check the detailed list on AdventureSmart https://www.adventuresmart.ca/the-three-ts/
