Description
A beautiful loop hike and scramble in Mount Baker Wilderness.
We’ll take Forest Road 32 to the trailhead. We’ll take the trail to 1680 m and head to the higher, East summit. It is a steep heather slope and micro spikes are helpful year round. From the East summit we’ll head to the West summit, and take the trail back to the cars. 17 km, about 1500 m elev. gain.
Equipment needed – headlight, helmet, micro spikes (highly recommended), enough clothes to survive a night out in a case of emergency. PASSPORT.
We’ll need a NW Forest pass for the cars (or America the Beautiful).
The participants should be able to maintain upper-moderate tempo, as it is a longish hike, with sizeable elevation gain.

Communication can be difficult and in the event of an accident, rescue and treatment may not be available| Adverse weather may also delay the arrival of treatment and transport out of the field
If an Injury occurs in challenging terrain movement to an evacuation point may be slow|.
