Description

3 Nights (possibly 4) @ Haberl Hut.  4 days (Mon-Tues-Wed-Thurs) ski-touring on (easy/moderate & advanced) slopes in Vicinity of Haberl Hut.

This  ski-touring event is for experienced, intermediate or better backcountry skiers who have AST 1 or equivalent experience. All participants required to bring avi kit:(transceiver, probe & shovel) & crevasse rescue kit: (prusiks, locking carabiners) and expected to be familiar with their deployment and use.

Participants will be required to contribute towards the purchase and preparation of Communal meals.  The communal meal menus will be coordinated prior to the trip to maximize  efficient use of cooking amenities & space & minimize total group meal prep time.

Helicopter costs will be shared.  At this point, with a planned party of 8, we expect to have 2 flights in (on Sunday afternoon or Monday morning) and 2 flights out on Thursday.   If we fly in on Sunday, to reduce flight, costs by pairing up with the party  exiting Haberl on that day,  there will be no extra charge to our group members for using the Hut on Sunday evening March 6).

For those interested carpooling may be arranged from a mutually convenient location such as Upper Levels highway & Taylor  to the Squamish Airport.

Parties venturing out on the slopes must consist of at least 3 people properly equipped and prepared for the terrain, and leave a detailed trip plan.
