Description
Dry practice of skills needed for top rope climbing. Please allow 4 hours.
Agenda:
-Anchor building
-Anchors to avoid
-Prussics/ third hand
-Cleaning anchors
-Rappelling
-Lowering
-Crag etiquette and safety
Requirements:
-Ability to bottom (ie top rope) belay. I will not be teaching you to belay.
-Prior gym experience an asset
Required Equipment:
-Harness
-Belay device
-Personal Anchor System (PAS)
-Min 2 locking Biners (up to 4 is better)
-3 non-locking biners
-Prussic cord
-Anchor material: 7mm cords 6 meters or 120cm slings, or 240m sling
Notes:
-I have extra belay devices, biners, anchors, prussic cords
-It would be helpful if another person could bring a rope
-You do not need rock shoes or a helmet. We will not be climbing.
-Bring rain gear and warm clothes as we will be outside for the session.
