Yet another snow skills practice session for mentorship program participants.
Tues May 14, meet at Bean Around the World at Parkgate Village at base of Seymour at 4:30pm (Edit): https://maps.app.goo.gl/7YdfydA7XfegS92f7
We will walk the first part of the Seymour trail towards Brockton point and look for snow slopes for practice. Depending on time and amount of snow, we can practice several of:
– movement on steep snow/rope team
– snow anchors
– crevasse rescue hauling systems
– self arrest
Required Gear:
– Helmet
– Harness
– Ice Axe
– Crampons
– Boots to fit your crampons
– Locking and non-locking carabiners
– prusiks
– slings/runners
– pulleys, micro traxion, tibloc if you have them
– Pickets if you have them
– Belay/rappel device
– Headlamp*
– Sunglasses
– Waterproof shell pants and jacket, layers

– Food/water
