Monthly Social and Presentations- “Trail Mix and Traverse Mingle”

May 28th 2024

Description

From a remarkable ski traverse, to some exhilarating summer mountaineering, we have three presentations planned for you!

1. Bow Yoho Traverse by Linda Berube and Erin Ready– 6 days on the Bow Yoho Traverse: a sick classic traverse across the continental divide in the Canadian Rockies starting at Bow lake, crossing the Wapta Icefield, and through Yoho National Park. See what our presenters got up to this winter

2. Armchair Traverse by Piotr Barejko– iconic ridge-line between Mt. Cook and Mt. Weart, and a stellar trip-share for those looking to get “scrambly” this summer

3. Alpine Climb in the Tantalus Range by Claire Preston- an all-women’s alpine climbing trip and a stunning perspective into the ACC mentoring program. The peaks include Omega, Niobe, Pelops, Iota and an attempt on Alpha E ridge

Grab a friend and join us for some change-of-season inspiration!

We aim to cover different skill levels in our presentations. Whether you are a mountaineer, or just beginning to venture into technical-hiking, backcountry skiing or climbing, you are sure to find these valuable and exciting.

Please RSVP and help us keep an attendee-count. Please email the organizer if you have any trouble RSVPing.

NOTE: The social will be held in-person at the Floral Hall, VanDusen Botanical Garden (37th Avenue at Oak Street) in Vancouver.

The doors will open at 6:30pm for socializing and the program will begin at 7pm.
