Monthly Social and Presentations- “Summer Objective Ideas”

June 25th 2024

Description

June 25 marks our final social gathering before the summer break, and we’ve amped up the inspiration.

Rob Szpak will take us through (not one, but) many of his hiking and climbing trips with the aim to inspire your summer. Think of it as a look-book of hiking and climbing objectives.

Harley Gordon will take us through 8 years of Vancouver Island alpine. Harley will talk about the most memorable hikes and climbs attempted, including encounters with avalanches bears and fog.

Our two speakers will showcase a variety of trips and trip ideas. Instead of detailed presentations on each trip, expect to see highlights and enjoy a series of captivating photos.

We aim to cover different skill levels in our presentations. Whether you are a mountaineer, or beginning to venture into technical-hiking or climbing, you are sure to find these valuable and exciting!

NOTE: The social will be held in-person at the Floral Hall, VanDusen Botanical Garden (37th Avenue at Oak Street) in Vancouver.

The doors will open at 6:30pm for socializing and the program will begin at 7pm.
