Local ACC Vancouver member Miras Taskinbayev, a Kazakh mountaineer, introduces remote and beautiful zones like the Tuyuksu and Bayankol regions: places that combine dramatic alpine terrain with minimal crowds and surprisingly good access.

Discover why the Kazakh Tien Shan is a hidden gem for mountaineers – featuring peaks like Talghar, Marble Wall, and Khan Tengri— and what makes the area appealing for international expeditions, ski tours, and mixed alpine objectives.

In the second part, take a closer look at the plan for a 2025 expedition to Peak Marble Wall (6,300 m), a massive, remote summit along the Kazakhstan–China border. The presentation will cover the route, approach, technical demands, and challenges of organizing expeditions in this part of the Tien Shan.
