Description

This trip is heading to Dennett Bluffs to do some dry tooling and prepare for ice climbing season, and meet other people interested in ice or mixed climbing!

Required Equipment:

  • Helmet
  • Crampons
  • Ice tools (no adzes please)
  • Personal climbing gear (harness, belay device, etc.)

I can share my tools with one or two other people — please let me know in your sign up if you would like this.

Hazards:  Dry tooling is rock climbing with sharp things on all four of your limbs.  As such it has all the normal hazards of rock climbing such as falls, rockfall, belay failure; and also additional risk of injury due to the ice tools and crampons.  Although every effort is made to reduce these risks, they cannot be eliminated entirely.  This trip is UNGUIDED.
