Description

This trip is intended for those with high levels of fitness, strong skiing abilities and solid touring skills (ie. not beginners or intermediates).

 

The difficulty rating is set to “difficult” because I would like to set a faster pace than most trips I lead. Breaks will be minimal.

Conditions permitting I would like to check out the New Years Bowl area on the Baldwin map, traverse to Zopkios and ski the south face.

Requirement:

-Good attitude

-Prior touring experience including this season

-Above average to high fitness for a full day outside at a faster-than-normal-for-an-ACC-trip pace (1500+ vertical meters)

-Ability to ski black runs in any conditions

-Ast 1 equivalent or better

 

Required gear:

-Touring kit (skis or board)

-Avi gear (beacon, shovel, probe)

-Food and water

-Layers

 

Cost for the trip = Chocolate for the leader!
