Description

Prep for the winter season by practicing companion rescue at Mount Seymour.  Plan is to meet at Parkgate mall, then carpool up to Seymore and find a patch of snow and run through a few avalanche companion rescue scenarios.

NOTE: This is NON-INSTRUCTIONAL.  I will not be teaching companion rescue — assumption is participants will have AST1 or equivalent and looking to practice.

Requirements:

• AST1 or equivalent
• Avalanche rescue kit (beacon, probe, shovel)
• Headlamp
• Normal winter clothing
• Traction devices/snowshoes may be helpful, although likely not needed.
