Description

Please phone me if you want to come, Alastair 604-329-1637.  Academy NE1 is a 2,404m peak on the north side of the long ridge connecting Mt Rohr to Mt Marriot.  We will access it from the Duffey Lk road, and trail to Wendy Thompson hut.  Ascending Wishbone Pk 2310m , then dropping down nw to a small lake, and climbing up to the ascending ridge.  Although I have traversed the entire Rohr/Marriot ridge I haven’t climbed this specific objective on its north side.  It looks to be mostly a scramble but it also looks like there is at least one steep section.  This trip is intended to be a scramble.  We won’t be taking a rope or climbing gear.  If there is no scramble route up the peak, we will call it a day.  Required gear is:  snowshoes, ice axe, crampons, helmet, headlight, and enough clothes to survive a night out (at altitude) in case of an accident.
