Steep Creek Area Ski

April 1st 2013

Description

This is a great ski run that is drawn on John Baldwin’s map but is not described in his book. We park across from Duffey lake and start skinning up the logging road. When we get to the clear cut or burn (so before the lake), we leave the logging road and start heading up until we get to a ridge. The ski off the ridge and back to the logging road is awesome! If time permits, we can do another lap of the top section off the ridge. Intermediate skiing/ski touring ability and AST-1 is required at a minimum. If you’re interested, please send me an email once you have added yourself to the waiting list and include the following: 1. If I haven’t skied with you before, please tell me about your experience and ability. 2. For everyone, please let me know if you have a vehicle, can take it, and how many passengers you can take. Also let me know where you live/where you would be coming from. This trip will be a full day event.
