Description

Since the weather looks
clear and nice on Saturday, the avy is quite
reasonable, it looks like a good time to do a
big day trip to Rainbow Mountain and summit on
skis! (Sunday looks somewhat more cloudy with a
bit of snow.)

This is a trip for
relatively fast and experienced backcountry
skiiers – with 8-9h of travel and 20km to
cover. Elevation gain around 1500m.

The plan is to start at Alexander Falls in
Callaghan Valley and go via Hanging Lake to the
peak of Rainbow Mtn.

This is a
trip for intermediate and advanced BC skiers
only. You should be able to ski black runs
under any type of conditions and have good
fitness to maintain a steady pace the whole
trip.
