Description
The plan is to ascend and descend Mt Rohr (2440m) via its north slopes which are generally moderate and suitable for beginners who, however, must be of reasonable fitness level and should be comfortable skiing black runs at a ski resort since there are some steeper sections and a forested terrain on this route. On a clear day, the summit offers gorgeous views of the surrounding peaks – Cayoosh, Marriott, Matier, Joffrey, etc. ….. Total distance: 16km ….. Elevation gain: 1200m …..
BACK-UP PLAN: If avalanche hazards are predicted to be high, we might have a slightly later departure from Vancouver and visit the “good old” Paul Ridge 🙂
ITINERARY: Leave Vancouver: 6:00am. Leave trailhead: 9:00am. Total ski time: 8 hrs. Back by cars: 5:00pm and leave by 5:30pm. Back in Vancouver: 8:00 – 9:00pm (depending on whether we stop in Whistler for dinner – group decision…)
