Description
Have you ever dreamt of running long distances? Pushing your limits? Well…you have something in common with Alan Thompson!
Alan is a runner who enjoys a many types of running – road races, trail races, and long trail runs with friends. He has run a dozen or so major marathons including Boston, New York, Berlin, Vancouver, and Victoria.
Join us as Alan shares his experience when a group of 7 runners ran the Grand Canyon Rim-to-Rim-to-Rim during a single October day. The distance across the Canyon and back is about 72 km, with a total elevation change of 11, 000 feet (both up and down). On an earlier attempt in 2010, Alan was defeated by the heat and “only” ran one-way across. In 2011, he succeeded in going both ways in better conditions.
