Description

The Whistler Olympic park, is planned to be
open on this week-end, so we can start from
this base (open at 8:30am)

However, snow conditions promise to be poor
(typical spring condition),
and ski tree condition below Hanging Lake will
be probably nasty. so it will be mostly a day
out for touring (sunday forecast is pretty
sunny) more than anything else.

Please don’t plan anything in the evening…we
could decide to have a dinner in Squamish.

Description

Gin Peak is the summit immediately south of
Rainbow Lake. It makes a nice day trip when
approached from Whistler Olympic Park in the
Callaghan Valley.

There is a ski run north off
the summit to Rainbow Lake. North and Northwest
facing slopes going down to Hanging Lake are
also excellent ski runs.

The exit from this trail is always “fun”:you
must be comfortable with tight tree skiing.
