Early Season Turns – Mt Baker Area Part
II

According to short term forecasts this
rain will turn into snow.
This system that we are currently in is
bringing massive percipitation. The freezing
level may be high today but it is expected to
drop on saturday and into
sunday which could mean as much as 60cm of snow
in the Mt Baker Ski area. Which is enough to
lay down a decent base for some early season
turns.

This is a tentative plan to go and do some
early season backcountry skiing up in the
Mt Baker area; Either around Artist Point which
is skiiable car to car, or Skyline Ridge which
looks primed; but the destination is
subject to change, or the event may be
cancelled if the freezing levels don’t
agree.

If the snow does agree I’ll send out an
email to everyone giving the details of the
carpool location and time to meet!
