Cypress Peak

September 11th 2011

Description

This is a one day scramble up Cypress Peak. Carpool meets at St. David’s Church @ 7:30 am and heads up to the trailhead. The route ascends large talus/boulder slope west of Roe Creek, followed by the fantastic north ridge of Cypress. Technically most of this ridge is easy scrambling except for initial part that has one moderate 20 m step. The craggy peaks and glaciers that surround the Squamish River Valley provide excellent scenery along the upper ridge.
Ascent Time: 3.5 – 5.5 hours; Elevation Gain: 1200 m;
