Description
This will be the first of hopefully many family friendly events to get the kids out into the backcountry.
The plan is to go to the Coquihala and snowshoe/ski up Zoa and explain some backcountry and avalanche safety, possibly yo-yo then ski down.
Skiing will be kept to gentle slopes with low avalanche risk.
Kids should be comfortable skiing blues to easy blacks and trees. Younger kids are welcome if you’re carrying them on a backpack.
My older kid(s) aged 11 and 13 will be snowshoeing and skiing down and I may bring my 3 year old depending on the weather and if anybody else is bringing younger ones.
I have extra snowshoes, poles, and boots (depending on the size)
