BC Adventure Smart is hosting a free 1 hour
long webinar to help
keep you safe as you recreate outdoors this
winter.

What’s it about?

The Snow Safety & Education presentation is intended
to foster
awareness of the risks associated with skiing and
snowboarding to make
sure participants have the safest, and most
enjoyable experience
possible while outdoors.
Participants will learn
what to do before
hitting the slopes this winter and how to be safe
while skiing, or
snowboarding, within the ski hill area (controlled
recreation area).

What topics will be covered?
~ Trip Planning – making a plan and leaving a trip
plan.
~ Training – Alpine Responsibility Code, physical
abilities.
~ Taking Essentials – proper clothing, emergency
gear, helmet, safety
whistle +++
~ Staying in-bounds, not ducking boundary ropes /
ski area borders
~ Ski resort signs and symbols
~ What to do in an emergency

Who can participate?
Adults and youth (families) interested in ski hill
area recreation
such as downhill skiing and snowboarding.
