–Self rescue using prussic loops. Assisted rescue using various pulley systems with emphasis on the Z pulley. Use of Yates picket. Passing protection.

Hollyburn hike & ice axe self arrest practice session
–Meet at the Hollyburn Trailhead (near the Cypress XC ski area). Hike or snowshoe until we find a suitable location. Practice ice axe self arrest. Hike out when we decide we’re finished. This is a practice session, so you should have at least some experience with ice axe self arrest.

Crevasse rescue practice
–I have a couple of ski traverses coming up and want to practice my crevasse rescue skills. Let’s meet at the Hollyburn trailhead, hike/snowshoe/ski tour up the marked trail until we find a good spot to practice, then practice 3:1 and drop loop systems.
