  • Get in fighting form for winter mountaineering! Pack snowshoes and your regular climbing load. We’ll ascend via the BCMC trail and then do a loop on the Snowshoe Grind. Descent will be either via BCMC or the Gondola. Route info: ~7.5km total (~11km if descending BCMC), 1068m elevation gain. Trip contingent on avalanche conditions.

  • Canada West Mountain School is offering a custom AST1-Plus course to the ACC-Vancouver.   • Crevasse rescue systems for self rescue including Prussic practice with and without packs.Assisted rescue usng pulley systems with an emphasis on Z-Pulley systems. If time permits, a visit to the on-campus pub for a beer or other libation.

  • Prussik practice.Various pulley arrangements for crevasse rescue. We will visit the BCIT studnt pub to finish off the evening.
