Description
This is an opportunity for us to get out there before the snow comes, and brush off some of the rust. Â The focus will be on companion rescue so please bring your Transceiver, and your shovel and probe too because we will be using all 3 at different times throughout the day. Â We will review basic recommended techniques for companion rescue incase any of what we’ve learnt in the past is getting a little faded in the back of our brains.
Location: Third Beach Concession, Stanley Park
Time: 10:00 – 15:00
Itinerary: We will first regroup at the grass area north of the concession stand and review about probes and shovels and transceivers, then we’ll deploy them efficiently and review some basic technique.
After this we will collapse our gear and put it away and then head to the beach for some searching scenarios. Â Using just our transceivers, no shovels or probes for this part. Â We will execute a bunch of searches for dedicated transceiver(s) that have been buried in the sand.
The focus is going to be on good pacing for the “coarse search” leading into the “fine search”
