Description
Christmas Ski Week at Pebble Creek Hut!Â
December 20–27, 2026 | Fly-in / Fly-out Backcountry SkiingÂ
Looking for a fantastic way to spend Christmas? Join us for a week of backcountry skiing at Pebble Creek Hut, enjoying beautiful mountains, great skiing, and good company!Â
I’m putting together a group for December 20–27, 2026, and looking for interested participants.Â
We will fly in and out of the Pebble Creek cabin and spend the week backcountry skiing. The terrain offers a mix of tree runs, alpine bowls, and glacier runs. Skiers should be in good shape, have their AST 1 or better, and be able to handle all snow conditions from great powder to breakable crust and open meadows to tight trees. The terrain is large and diverse. This should not be your first ski trip, but there is plenty of terrain for all abilities.Â
Â
The cabin is warm and cozy, and has a propane stove and oven and all the kitchen implements you might find in a well stocked kitchen in town. There are sleeping mats and pillows, as well as a sauna and shower.Â

Estimated CostÂ
The final cost will depend on the number of participants, the number of helicopter flights required (one or two), and weather conditions on the day of the flight.Â
The hut rental is a fixed cost, regardless of the group size. The flights are estimated at approximately $3,000 per flight, but the actual cost may vary depending on weather conditions, as the helicopter may need to take a different route.Â
Based on these estimates:Â
- Group of 9: Approximately $900 + tax per person (two helicopter flights).Â
- Group of 5 or fewer: Approximately $4,500 + tax total for the hut and one helicopter flight, shared equally among participants.Â
These are estimates, not fixed prices. The final cost will be calculated based on the actual helicopter charges and divided among participants.Â
No Snow? No Financial Risk!Â
With the possibility of an El Niño winter, I understand that some people may hesitate to commit to a Christmas ski trip.Â
The good news: if there isn’t enough snow for skiing, the trip will be cancelled, and everyone will receive a full refund!Â
I’ll collect payments in advance to organize the booking, but thanks to a flexible arrangement with the hut owner, we won’t lose our money if snow conditions don’t cooperate.Â
So, we can look forward to a wonderful Christmas ski adventure without taking a financial gamble on the snow!Â
