Description

In this course, an ACMG guide will offer a morning of avalanche search refresher, reviewing your equipment and some best practices skills. This is not on snow but it will start clear the cobwebs and also force you to take a critical look at your tools. After a lunch break, the course will move indoors and the instructor will review some skills like navigation, weather and leadership skills and offer a AMA session where you can ask your nagging questions that might not find answers from peers and other searches. The course is all day and a small fee will be needed to cover the room rental, about 15 to 20 bucks per person. After the course, we will go have some food together at a local spot.We will meet at a outdoors location near the Brennan Park community centre for the morning session. After lunch, we will resume at the Adventure Center in the theatre room.

Prerequisite: AST 1 or higher,  priority to trip organizers. This does not replace AST courses. At least 10 days of touring in the back country in the past few years.
