Beginner-Friendly Ski Touring – Iago or Zoa

Attendee Screening: Attendees are Pre-Screened - The Trip Leader will review your background and contact you before accepting you on the trip. You will get a confirmation that your sign-up is pending right away.
That doesn't mean that you are confirmed to go on the trip yet. If you are accepted, you should receive an email from the coordinator to confirm your sign-up and coordinate the trip's details.

This trip is intended for those with little-to-no touring experience. Anyone can sign up but preference is given to beginners.

Since this will likely be the first trip for most people I expect there will be much faffing and Bambi legs.

Notes:

-Please fill-in the sign-up comment box describing your fit with the requirements below – I wont chase people for this information.

-Although non-members can sign up, the only guests that will be accepted are VOC members

-I will also be adding one or more of the mentees in the winter leader training program

Requirements:

-Good attitude

-Adequate fitness for a full day outside

-Ability to survival ski black runs in any conditions and ski black runs reasonable well in good conditions

-Ast 1 equivalent or better

Required gear:

-Touring kit (skis or board)

-Avi gear (beacon, shovel, probe)

-Food and water

-Layers

Recommended: Chocolate for the leader!

The trip will be rescheduled to Sunday December 10th if the weather on Sunday is significantly better.
