Description

I’m co-organizing this trip with Christina Williams. We’ll meet at 9 am
(new time, we lose 1 hour) at the Mount Currie Coffee House in
Pemberton. We can then carpool to drive up to the start of the trail
into the Marriott Basin. After the valley opens, we will climb through
the trees to an alpine basin that can connects with the Honey Bronze
run that goes down towards the Marriott cabin or we can choose to
do a straight return depending on weather, conditions and
participants. The participants should be able to ski through trees and
steep alpine terrain so this trip is not suitable for beginners. The pace
is expected to be moderate and the decision making and trail
breaking collaborative. It is a beautiful area and the ski conditions
should be good.

If you’re interested, please let me know:
1. Have you done other trips in the backcountry that require
navigation and forest skiing?
2. Do you have avalanche gear and what level of training do you
have? AST-1? AST-2?

Please note that this is a joint trip with the BCMC, so it may be full
even if there aren’t 6 people registered on iCal
