Description
SAVE THE DATE for our big
event of the year!

There are so many reasons to come to this, but
chief among them are:
1)Beer
Our long time Social Host and community
partner Mahoney and Sons Stamps Landing will be
donating the beer again. Beer will be a toonie. Money to go
into the Social
fund to buy dinner for presenters at our Socials. Step up
and be a presenter.

2) Awards / Door-Prizes / Swag
Our end of year social is the perfect time say
thank-you and let people know that their
contributions didn’t go unnoticed! We have lots of
door prizes and some ACC swag to give away also. If
you can think of anyone that has made a difference
to you or to anyone else, please drop their name to
[email protected] before November so they may be
recognized. :
We also have some amazing door prizes donated by our
community partners, Fjallraven, Nomad Nutrition, Intuition
boot liners, Aileen Stalker – Snowshoe in Southwestern BC
Book, Avalanche Canada, NSR and
AdventureSmart BC

3) Howie Rode
“Howie Rode – ACC member for 72 years has
turned 100 !! Come out to enjoy some cake and
celebrate with Howie and hear about our long time
member”

4) Ian Welsted

Ian is best known in climbing circles as one of only two
Canadians to be awarded the Piolets D’or, for his first
ascent of K6 West (7000m) in Pakistan. Born and raised in
Brandon Manitoba Ian
moved to Chamonix France at the
age of 17. From this
year in the mountains he returned to Canada to attend
Ottawa University and McGill University where he studied
economics and philosophy.
5) Year End Reports – 111 th year ACC on the West
Coast
– Read what we’ve been up
to this 111th year on the West Coast, lots to tell!

6) Bylaws Vote
With the very hard work of the executive and key
members in the club such as Manrico Scremin and
Willa Harasym we have drafted a set of Bylaws to
meet the needs of our growing section that reflect
the
emerging
culture within the club that has fostered the amazing
community we have built in the south coast. These
by-law changes will require a vote by all ACC
Members present at the AGM in order to bring them
into effect.
You
can read the proposed bylaw changes at the
following link http://accvancouver.ca/acc-van-
proposed-bylaws-2019-10-07/
7) Popcorn
Last year (among other things) we had 7 kilos of
buttery popcorn goodness. It
didn’t quite get
finished, but we were pretty close. We should
definitely make an attempt at it again this year!

Put it in your calendars for now, and check back
later – we would absolutely love for everyone to
be part of it.
Doors open 6:00pm. Friends and family are
most definitely welcome; carpooling is
definitely encouraged!
Hope to see you all there!
