To our ACC club members, friends, family and guests,

It’s time for our spring
social,
and a collective visit to Mahony & Sons (at stamps landing).

We have a large area reserved for just us, our own manned bar,
and some
amazing options for extremely delicious food and drinks. You’ll
also be in
excellent
company.

Our presenters this month are Jill, Soleil & Marlaina. They
are three
women who met through
the ACC and BCMC and have been climbing together ever
since. Earlier this
year, they went to Mendoza, Argentina to climb the highest
peak outside of
Asia.
Their goal was to complete an all women’s, self-propelled
ascent of
Aconcagua, but what followed was so much more. Through
high winds,
snow, altitude,
hunger and heavy packs they trudged on when many other
teams turned
back, becoming “famous” as the “Three Canadian Chicas” on
their side of
the
mountain. Their story promises insight into what it takes to
prepare for an
expedition like this, and a lot of laughs!

Their trip was generously supported by a grant from the
ACC
Jen Higgins Fund for Young
Women.

Note: It’s no secret that we’ve been wanting to host our socials
at a venue
like this more often, but until now, we haven’t found anywhere
that can
accommodate us. We have our fingers crossed that you love
Mahony’s, but
we need the numbers to make it work well. So with summer
knocking on
our door,
take this as the perfect opportunity to meet people, make
plans for the year
and support the club by helping us explore a new and exciting
venue!

“Doors” start at 6:30pm, but our announcements /
presentations / festivities
should start around 7:30pm. You are welcome to go earlier if
you like also,
they
will not turn you away.
